The SuperStack 3 Switch 3824 is 3Com's most economical managed 10/100/1000 switch intended for entry-level Gigabit connectivity for desktops and for workgroup aggregation. With 24 Gigabit ports, including four dual-purpose ports that can accommodate fiber SFP (mini-GBIC) connectors, this device delivers wirespeed, non-blocking Layer 2 switching at an affordable price. Enterprise-level features include link aggregation (LACP) for increased uplink bandwidth of up to 8-Gbps in a trunk, 802.1p prioritization with eight priority queues for improved traffic control, up to 254 VLANs for network privacy, and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol support for fast network failure recovery. SNMP management insures centralized control, with support within 3Com Network Supervisor and HP OpenView.
