The 3Com Email Firewall is designed to protect SMTP mail servers against over 38 types of attacks including spam, viruses, denial of service (Dos) attacks, directory harvest, buffer overruns, and malformed emails. Enterprise-class capabilities include bulk email detection, Bayesian filtering, whitelisting, blacklisting, and pattern-based message filtering. An onboard antivirus engine scans inbound and outbound e-mail traffic, quarantines suspicious messages and attachments. 3Com Email Firewall lets you implement usage policies that filter out inappropriate email content and attachments based on headers, keywords, or message text.
