Description:
HP Switch 4800G 24-Port SFP delivers Gigabit switching, with Power over Ethernet and full unicast and multicast routing, in a 1U high unit. With clustering-style stacking management, and full IPv4/IPv6 capabilities, this is a future-proof platform for building an advanced secure, converged network. This Switch 4800G model has 24 SFP fiber 100/1000 Mbps ports of which eight are combo SFP and 10/100/1000 Mbps tri-speed front-port connections. Two rear slots support 1- or 2-port 10-Gigabit expansion, for high bandwidth unit-to-unit local connections and uplinks. Every Switch 4800G fully supports both IPv4 and IPV6 routing and management. This IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack model supports the major L3 routing protocols, multicast protocols and policy routing mechanisms and helps ensure a seamless migration from IPv4 to IPv6. Multiple layers of security are built into each Switch 4800G. Encrypted management capabilities include SSH for CLI access, HTTPS for web access, and SNMPv3 for secure SNMP management access. Advanced processor queuing mechanisms can prevent Denial of Service (DOS) attacks, and enhanced Access Control Lists (ACLs) can restrict users to only authorized areas of your network. Advanced network access control features, including IEE 802.1X network login and MAC-based network login, help ensure that only authorized traffic traverses the network. Unicast Reverse Path Finding (uRPF) technology verifies the authenticity of a route from the receiving interface to the source address, helping prevent malicious network attacks from source address spoofing. The 3Com Switch 4800G offers a number of link reliability technologies including Rapid Ring Protection Protocol (RRPP), a fast ring protection mechanism ensuring normal operations without impacting network convergence time. The Voice VLAN technology ensures the highest level security and performance by placing voice traffic on a virtual voice network. The Switch 4800G offers L2-L4 packet filtering and delivers flow classification based on source IP and MAC addresses, destination IP and MAC addresses, ports, protocols or VLANs.
