Description:

The NetVanta 3G NIM is a plug-in module for ADTRAN's NetVanta routers. It provides a standards-based 3G Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA) interface for broadband access through cellular network connections with download rates exceeding 3Mbps. The 3G NIM is designed to operate in the 800/1900 CDMA bands with dual-band dipole antennas - one primary and one diversity antenna. The NetVanta routers can also use the 3G NIM as a cost-effective, high-performance disaster recovery backup solution, guaranteeing service if the primary connection is ever lost. This can be accomplished using a NetVanta unit supporting two NIM slots, one NIM for the primary connection and the other for the 3G NIM for the disaster recovery link. Like ADTRAN's other NIM solutions, once the 3G NIM is plugged into the NetVanta router, it becomes an integrated solution that takes advantage of all the features inherent in the ADTRAN Operating System (AOS) such as Quality of Service (QoS), firewall, Network Address Translation (NAT), and Virtual Private Network (VPN). In addition, the AOS allows the 3G NIM to be administered through both the Command Line Interface (CLI) as well as the intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface.
