Description:
With an architecture that separates the control engine from the data-forwarding plane and offloads many firewall tasks to a special-purpose switch, network traffic is intercepted by the Firewall Accelerator and potential attacks are stopped before ever hitting the Check Point firewall. The Accelerator, running a special OS, is equipped with network processors ideally suited to support real-time deep-packet inspection and comprehensive Denial of Service (DoS) protection. The new Firewall Accelerator and Director reflect the evolution of the unique architecture found in today's Alteon Switched Firewall portfolio, offering switch-based acceleration that takes advantage of the features and functionality derived from the high-performance Alteon Application Switch.
