Description:

Your drive should be cleaned when the drive STATUS light blinks in a long-on and short-off pattern (on for 3.5 seconds, then off for 0.25 seconds). Use this Seagate AIT head-cleaning cartridge to clean the tape heads. When a cleaning cartridge is inserted, the drive starts its automatic cleaning routine, which cleans the entire tape path. When the cleaning routine is complete, the cartridge is ejected automatically. One cleaning cartridge can be used for about 70 cleanings. If the drive ejects a cleaning cartridge without performing the cleaning routine, it is possible that the entire cleaning tape has been used.
