Description:
AIT format sets a new performance standard for high-density storage tape systems. The SDX series is the world's highest capacity tape drive and media system offering both a rapid transfer rate and breakthrough data access times. The "intelligent" component of Sony's Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) technology is the Memory in Cassette (MIC) and drive interface system. A memory chip containing the tape's log file is built into the data cartridge allowing files to be accessed by advancing directly to the correct position on the tape. The Sony SDX-D700C series drive is a high-capacity data storage device using AIT technology. The SDX-D700C series drive achieves high data reliability through Read-After-Write, an additional level of Error Correction Code, and other innovative features. The Sony SDX-D700C series drive stores data on tape using a standard AIT format and ALDC formats.
