The Switch 7700R Starter Kits comes with a single high performance Gigabit switch fabric but supports a second switch Gigabit switch fabric for high resiliency, sub-second fail-over. The second, redundant fabric must be ordered separately from the Starter Kit. Order this component to have the second redundant switch fabric.
The 3Com Switch 7700R 8-Slot Gigabit fabric comes with software for operation in the Switch 7700R 8-Slot chassis, as either primary or redundant fabric. It does not have the software for working in the Switch 7700 7-Slot chassis. If a spare switch fabric is required for the Switch 7700 7-Slot chassis, order 3C16857
